How it works

Your browser does the work. When you add an image, this page redraws it on an in-page canvas at the quality you picked and saves the smaller result. The image never travels anywhere: there is no server receiving it, which you can prove by loading this page, turning off your connection, and compressing anyway.

Which settings should you use?

• Photos for the web: quality 75–85%, WebP output. Usually 60–80% smaller with no visible difference.
• Screenshots and text: keep PNG, or use WebP at 90%. JPEG blurs sharp text edges.
• Huge camera photos: add a 1920 px max size. Resizing is where the biggest savings are.
